this is the charleston house in sussex! painted by vanessa bell (virginia woolf’s sister) and duncan grant. home to the bloomsbury group (woolf, bell, grant, keynes, sackville-west…) as a refuge from wartime london. i went while i lived in canterbury and took a class on woolf. one of my favorite places in the world.
